The 2017 China Photovoltaic Technology International Conference (CPTIC) concluded in the afternoon of March 31, after keynote reports and sub-forums.
In the morning, Prof. Michael Grätzel of Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, Mr. Yang Liyou, general manager of Jinneng Clean Energy Technology Ltd. (Jinergy), Prof. Yang Deren of Zhejiang University delivered their keynote reports.
Prof. Michael Grätzel, a renowned scholar in Perovskite Solar Cells and the inventor of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells, is one of the top ten most cited chemists in the world. In his report titled "Molecular Photovoltaics and Perovskite Solar Cells", he reviewed the development of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells, the latest progress in the field of Perovskite Solar Cells and presented his new research findings, also discussing the problems and future trends in the research of Perovskite Solar Cells.
Mr. Yang Liyou spoke as a representative from Chinese photovoltaic industries. In his report titled "Technological Progress in PV Mass Production - Toward Grid Parity", he spoke about the application prospect of photovoltaic technology, with emphasis on Jinergy's technologies, products and strengths, vowing to aim for the position of industrial leader and to provide high-quality high-efficiency photovoltaic products to the market.
Prof. Yang Deren discussed the growth of crystalline silicon, the doping control and silicon wafer processing technology in his report " Progress in Multicrystalline Silicon Ingot and Wafer", arguing the low cost, high conversion rate, high stability and high environmental compatibility of multicrystalline silicon solar cell earn it great potential in new energy market.
In the following nine sub-forums, speakers reported and discussed their latest research findings about the material, processing and technology of crystalline silicon cells; high-efficiency crystalline silicon cells and modules; new-type photovoltaic materials, devices and engineering; high-efficiency perovskite solar cells; and thin-film solar cells.
The conference received more than 400 abstracts. More than 50 reports were selected as Outstanding Reports from the 306 reports made at the conference. Ten of the 84 posters displayed at the conference were selected as Outstanding Posters.
